At The Westin Denver International Airport, our team restored Kwik-Wall operable partitions through controlled finish removal, rust abatement and preventive treatment, comprehensive inspection, panel leveling and acoustical panel recovery. The five-day project improved system movement, alignment and appearance while the hotel remained open.

Restoring a hotel airwall as one operating system

This hotel airwall restoration addressed the finish, alignment and operating condition of Kwik-Wall operable partitions in a guest-facing ballroom. The work combined operable wall recovery with mechanical inspection and adjustment so the restored ballroom walls could move reliably, align cleanly and retain their acoustical function.

Existing condition

Controlled removal over an acoustical substrate

The existing wallcovering had been installed over foam-backed acoustical panel faces. Removing it without tearing, deforming or otherwise damaging the foam required controlled removal, careful panel-by-panel work and specialized wallcovering experience. Preserving the foam was necessary to maintain the panels’ acoustical function while preparing them for recovery.

Our team carefully removed the existing wallcovering, preserved the foam-backed acoustical substrate, treated rust, inspected the walls and mechanical components, leveled and aligned the panels, and recovered the acoustical panel faces.
